WOMEN TRIATHLON CLINIC

A day to bring female athletes together and discover the beauty of mountain triathlon.

Our women’s triathlon clinic was held last tuesday under perfect conditions!

The morning began with a brief introduction and then it was off to the gouille for a swim and the opportunity to practice sighting techniques.

Post-swim, bikes were readied, and we reviewed a few transition from swim to bike skills. This was followed by a ride along the Verbier Triathlon sprint distant route or the longer distance Olympic route.

A delicious homemade lunch was served and we had the opportunity to listen to a variety of speakers lead by Catie Friend:

 Ironman Switzerland 2018 age group winner and Kona qualifier, Karine Fragniere; the owner of Bio Bagnes, Sabrina Fellay (who graciously donated food for the event); and Eric Werfeli, …

Following lunch, a further discussion ensued looking at some of the many rules that can be enforced in a race and the importance of reading the athlete guide and being fully prepared. We also provided an overview of the second transition from bike to run.

Finally, we capped off the day with a 6k run, once again following the Verbier Triathlon sprint distance route.

A superb day was had by all and we look forward to hosting another clinic in the spring of 2021.

This clinic is a great opportunity for women to learn more about mountain triathlons, including road biking with nice climbs and trail running in the beautiful nature.

The novice group will be shown how to get started in mountain triathlon.

The experienced triathlete group will discover the beauty of mountain triathlon with a longer, Olympic like distance program.

Both groups will join for an outdoor healthy lunch, advice on nutrition  and explanations how to transition before setting of for the running part.

Required equipment:  water bottle, swimsuit, goggles, appropriate footwear for running, road bike and helmet. if you need to rent a bike please send us an email and we will organise the bike for you (15 CHF extra-charge) .

A light and healthy lunch will be provided. Please bring your own hydration and snacks for the bike ride.

Full day: 60 CHF / full day with bike: 75 CHF
