Verbier Cross Triathlon – 2nd Edition!
2nd September 2018

The Verbier X-Triathlon is organised by 123cross.com, which is based in Switzerland

On Sunday 2nd September 2018 the town of Le Châble, Verbier will be a hive of activity. The imposing mountains of the Val de Bagnes are the perfect backdrop to our second annual international community triathlon event. The disciplines are open-water swimming, mountain biking and trail running.

We have specifically chosen routes out of the way of roads and traffic so you can really appreciate the natural beauty of the Val de Bagnes region. Our courses will take you over dirtroads, down single tracks through woods and across farmer’s fields. The lake water is filled from a natural source and kept fresh and clean, naturally filtered by sand.
The water temperature in September will vary between 20 and 24 degrees.

Join us once more for some competitive fun, and plenty of activities for everyone!

ABOUT 123CROSS

We are proud to say we run a strict “low waste – leave no trace” policy at all of our events. In our first year we recycled everything we could and ended up with only one bin full of waste, even though 104 racers and 250 visitors stayed with us all day! That’s thanks to the use of recycling cups, wooden plates and cutlery, reusable signposts and of course everyone’s hard work cleaning up after the event. We are proud of this achievement and endeavour to do the same every year.
Natation Entremont, the local swimming club founded in 2015 by Karin Pethebridge, is running the event. The club will use the funds and income for their local project “learn to swim for everyone”, as well as their future project in the Philippines.

FETE D’ETE

The village will host lots of shops as well as a café, restaurant, bar (with DJ) and live music.
We sell bracelets to those who want to join in the fun. Once you have a bracelet you can enjoy free use of test kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, electric bikes and much more from 11:00 until 18:00.
You can take a ride with us on the lifeboat and celebrate the event with the rest of our community.
Then, enjoy a sing along or (if you prefer) a quiet drink of home-brewed beer while watching all the activities.
We follow a healthy food policy and use only local companies that provide fresh nutrition for a reasonable price.
All competitors and volunteers also receive a voucher for a free meal.
